THE BACK STORY

This is the second single of an exciting collaboration between blues & soul powerhouse vocalist Eddy Smith and the Masterlink Sessions studio band (a.k.a. Redtenbacher’s Funkestra).

The journey started (as always) with a Masterlink Session. Eddy Smith came in to film and record his original song ‘The Ballad of Bobby Grey’   and the Sam Cooke classic ‘Bring It on home’ with us. We all loved his powerful vocals and it didn’t take much to liken him to vocalists like Jo Cooker, Sam Cooke and Andrew Strong – remember him – the voice of the movie ‘The Commitments’.

We love the two Masterlink Sessions videos we created and simply couldn’t stop there with Eddy. So we invited him back to record more songs. This time two songs written by singer-songwriter and poet Grant Watson and Stefan Redtenbacher. ‘Saviour’ and ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’  are the result. Of course we will not stop there and will continue our soulful adventures with this wonderful artist that is Eddy Smith.
