Distance | Jess Hayes Yebba Cover

“Distance” by Jess Hayes, Stefan Redtenbacher ft. Funkestra

This was a very enjoyable session to create. Jess brought something very real to the song, and the whole band approached it with a lot of care and feel. It’s one of those performances where nobody is trying to force anything — everyone is simply serving the music, and I think that comes across.

“I picked ‘Distance’ as I love Yebba and when I heard this song, I was really taken with her vocal. I thought I’d enjoy picking it apart to learn it and I love a challenge.” (Jess Hayes, April 2026)

For us, that is very much what the Masterlink Sessions spirit is about. Good people in a room, listening to each other, trusting the song and trying to capture something honest.
